About Us
 

 

Mandi spent her childhood in the village of Ashdon, amongst the rolling Essex countryside. At weekends, her mother would bake cakes, puddings & biscuits, all made with traditional ingredients. Her first experience of baking was making jam tarts in her mum's kitchen. From a very early age, she had aspired to cook. She left school in the late 80’s and went to catering college in Braintree, where she qualified as a chef.

 

To date, she has worked in hotels, restaurants and public houses. Sav, Mandi's partner, has loved home made cakes & puddings from being a small boy, when he would visit fetes and Christmas fairs. Sav brings to the business his organisational skills, is always there to lend a hand in the kitchen & is of course the official taste tester.

 

So why have we decided to bring you Totally Scrumptious? We feel that a lot of people are missing out on the traditions of a bygone age. Our lives are such today, that many of us don’t have time to bake and, although the supermarket shelves are stocked with an array of cakes, puddings and biscuits, they lack that certain something that can only be found when you bake in small batches by hand. The only ingredients in our products are the ones that really need to be there.

 

You may be interested in our logo, Bob the Bear. Bob arrived in Sav's & Mandi’s lives seven years ago, just before a trip to the Lake District, so we took him with us and he proved to be a lucky mascot. He has subsequently been on many more adventures, so it was logical that we chose Bob in the hope he would bring good luck to the new venture that is Totally Scrumptious. We are based in Saffron Walden and can be found at many local fairs and farmer's markets.

We are members of the National Market Traders' Federation and are cleared by the Environmental Health Service to prepare and cook food.
